Some would argue I'm a devil. :evilgrin :p
Also, I forgot to add that it's 7:00 EST. Here's a blurb from PK
Michael Smith's piece on Vince Young airs tonight as part of "E:60"on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET.
I just talked to Smith to ask what's new in the story, since we've seen some of the early interview on SportsCenter.
Smith said the piece comes out of three separate interviews: One in June in Nashville; one in June in Houston that include a conversation with Young's mother; and a third a few weeks ago in Austin.
While Young spoke at the Mississippi memorial service of Steve McNair, Smith's talk with Young about McNair's death is the first he's discussed it in an interview.
Also in the piece, more hashing out of what went down last September when Young asked out of the season opener against Jacksonville after he was booed and the bizarre night after it when police ended up searching for him fearing he was in danger.
Smith said he hopes the piece will provide us with a sense of why getting booed, something that seems so common, hit Young the way it did.

It's times like these where I miss the VY forum at the TOMB... where phrases such as "I'm working hard" could be analyzed and translated into "I don't care about my job", and opinions such as "You can tell from how Vince is standing on the sideline he is not excited about the play" can be gleaned from simple photographs.
Anyway, looking forward to the interview.

I wonder where that was going before Steve McNair was murdered... :unsure

Makes you wonder ^. VY seemed so raw and I wasn't expecting that. When he said something about not being used to people not lifting him up, I didn't flinch. I would have a year ago, but not now. He needed something that Fisher couldn't or wouldn't give. It is was it is and no blame or shame in saying it IMO.
I'm so glad his mom was interviewed. She owed him that.

Great interview, pretty gutwrentching...
We should all be pulling for Vince.
I flipped over at 6:23 and had missed the whole thing. I hate TV, so obsolete.

I watched it. I didn't DVR it or anything. It seemed roughly divided between pre McNair death and post McNair death in terms of his overall outlook on his career and particularly the Titans. His view of Fisher seemed interestingly juxtaposed pre and post. Shrug, anyway, what really matters right now is what happens on the field. He has absolutely got to step up his game. Let's see if he can do it.

13min clip.
Geez louise, had I known the interview with Wyatt was about the only new bit, I wouldn't have watched. I freakin' hate him, even more so than Climer, because Wyatt opens his mouth more.
It was good to hear from his mom.

Having heard that his mom overcame marijuana, cocaine, and crack cocaine addiction gives me hope that Vince can turn this around. I wouldn't have said that until I saw her during that segment.

Vince is a very passionate guy. And, he's already overcome many tough obsticles in life - many some of us have only the dimmest understanding of. Having seen him at his highest, I know what he's capable of when everything is working for him. This isn't the first time he's had to convert a 4th and 18 to save the day. I have faith. And, no matter how the NFL experience turns out, I will always heart VY.

The interview was good but nothing was shared I have not already heard from Vince. As one of the Titans fans who has many doubts about Vince, I want only for him and an inadequate receiving coach and players to "SHOW ME SOMETHING!" Your actions and "brick throwing" speak so loud, your words are drowned out."
Thanksfully, July 30-31 has arrived! Let the training camp begin and show me something in preseason!

TitansFan370,
I'm with you 100%. I hope that Vince can be this team's starting QB. Vince, I believe, is convinced that he can do just that. This training camp is the time for him to start SHOWING that he can be the starter.

guys, he is gonna blow everyones mind! just wait and see! vince is on a mission from here on out, and he is not looking back! one thing that i have known from following him since texas, a bound and determined vince young is a very dangerous thing!

I hope Vince comes out and gives all the haters and doubters a big up yours and dominates this year. Vince is a great guy who has been unfairly criticized. Wyatt pisses me off every time that he says something. I don't think Vince has to gain anyone's trust, if anything the organization should have to regain his. They didn't support him very much through this whole ordeal. I'm anxious to see how much Vince has improved on the 30th.

He works for the team. The team doesn't work for him. He has to earn their trust.
He also knowingly and willingly opened himself up to and the criticism the second he decided he wanted to play in the NFL. If go and stand under the microscope then you better expect people to look at you through it.

The Titans supported Vince then and have continued to support him. I'm as anxious as anyone to see what Vince can do but what happens in camp is not going to be the determining factor. Really, a lot of it is now out of his hands because outside of preseason you likely won't see much of Vince unless Kerry gets hurt and can't play or barring a complete meltdown. There may be some who want to see Kerry meltdown so that might happen but I'm not one of them just like I didn't want to see Vince meltdown either. I just want the Titans to be successful.

i think that we all want the titans to be successful , at the same time though, i think that vince will show that he has matured. i will support who ever is behind center, because its about the team first, but i am behind vince also, and i really don't care who does, and doesn't have a problem with it! i have been a fan of his since texas, and i am not about to quit! i think that he will rebound and be a better person and player from all of this!

I agree^ Why did Fat Albert have to throw his opinion in? He acted humble and ready to work to me. I hope he sees he may not have a full life time to accomplish things.

yeah once he wanted to give up during a game he has to earn back trust.

Same here.
I really did not come away from the interview thinking i've just seen a player with a fire in his belly, ready to prove the world wrong.
Just more woe is me.
I don't think he's got the mental toughness to come back.
I do hope i'm wrong.

Just more woe is me.
There's definitely a victim mentality going on in those segments, and now there's mourning, too. Pretty rough combo. I hope he's one of those people who can positively channel all that emotion but I have no idea if it's in his genes.
His mom having addictions means her first instinct was to run from adversity. Overcoming it means she had to learn how to deal with that and it probably took a very long time. His father has his issues too.
Anything he's overcome may have everything to do with how he was nurtured and nothing to do with his inherent nature. I sincerely hope not for his own well being.
