In the print edition of the Tennessean, they predicted a 12-4 season for the Titans. I really don't know if that was Wyatt and Eastwick that predicted that or the outside reporters that were quoted in the article.
While I appreciate their optimism, 12-4 seems to be unrealistic for this team. 10 wins is much more likely, and hopefully we will get that far.

It kind of worries me when people start to predict us to win the AFC South. It makes me nervous when outsiders pick us to win any game. The past few years this team has been the underdogs or at least had that mentality, like they have something to prove.

I wish we were able to repeat as AFC Champs..but we would have had to win the AFC for that to happen

If it make you feel any better, the power polls all have us at #6 or lower, behind the Steelers, Patriots, and Colts. ;)
We certainly aren't getting the respect of a team that finished with the best record in the NFL and crushed the Super Bowl champions in a very meaningful game late in the season.
And that is probably fine with the Titans and most of the fans. :ninja

And again, who have thought that we could be a 10-0 team last season?
There are positions that had improved, players that can help this team to be one that could be 12-4. I am not the type of fan that likes to "sound sure" on how a season will unfold, but I like to see how the team does week after week. So this is not a homer prediction. I think this team has the enough weapons and experience to have another season over 10 wins, and regain the AFC South title.
What would help tons is looking at Nate Washington and Britt, Gage has no room to have a bad season, and all of them would have to shine as much as possible, and as noted in other thread, our LB corps have to step-up, also. And the rest of the areas have to play as good as last season. (OL, DL, RB, DB and QB).
With the type of Coaches we have, I think it's possible to have this team focused and on their toes to have another good season.

Not me. I just base a lot of my predictions on numbers and history, and they make me really nervous this year. On paper, the Titans are a great team that could win a Super Bowl. But if they can't overcome their history, they may not even get to .500. :ohmy
In 2001, we all were expecting great things from the Titans. I am really worried about a repeat of that season.

That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I read that article. We were snake bit by injuries and had Toast on our roster.

we still haven't won a superbowl...or a playoff game recently for that matter
imho, we apparently still do have something to prove.

I really didn't get the feel that we were overwhelming favorites to win the division. I think prognosticators are still very much ho-hum about this team.
And if you read the boards of the other AFC South fans. We're gonna be lucky to win 4/5 games again.
Most opposing division fans have us finishing last in the South !:lol:crazy
