Rough start

Haye should fit in well on a Titans defensive line loaded with second- and third-chance players.

The Panthers cut Tony Brown three weeks after they released Haye, their sixth-round pick in 2005. Kyle Vanden Bosch arrived in Nashville with two reconstructed knees. Jevon Kearse left the Titans as a three-time Pro Bowl player and returned last season after being released by the Eagles. Dave Ball spent 2007 out of football, only to return last season and make an impact.
Haye's story is just as layered.

Small by defensive tackle standards, he left Vanderbilt after his junior season expecting to be drafted as early as the second round. His name wasn't called until the sixth round.

I hope he does as well as Kyle, I would be happy if he is just 60% of KVB.

I think this is a good addition for us. He seems like a good locker room guy as well.

Hopefully people temper their expectations and don't expect Haye to go out there and be Haynesworth. They are two totally different players with different skill sets. Haye's game is more speed-based than power-based.

The Titans most likely will need to alter their defensive philosophy by blitzing more often to counteract the lack of pressure Albert would provide in the middle. Interesting to see what Chuck Cecil does to put his stamp on this defense.

When you mentioned speed my first thought was Yeah! more blitzing. I could seriously be let down, but I figure Cecil call it a lot more than Schwartz.

Welcome back, Jovan!!

I expect Jovan to do a good job for this team. He's more a Tony Brown-type than a Haynesworth.
