You can tell that this last year and a half has been hard on him as a Vince fan.

He might try becoming a fan of the team instead of one player. Yea that might help. Or not. I truly could care less.
One could never tell he's a fan of the Longhorns and not a fan of the Titans.

i forgot about this guy, good to see he is still around

I still have a lot of respect for him. He wrote some of the funniest stuff I have ever read about the Titans.

wow seriously guys??? He came over to the TOMB saying i wrote something up on your team you might enjoy. Never claimed to be a titans fan. And since when is it wrong to be a fan of a player??? Lighten up and enjoy his stuff for what it is.

If you are going to be a fan of one player then be prepared for the fallout you get from fans who love the team as a whole.
He quit being funny a loooonnnggg time ago.
It's impossible for me with this one. I can't separate VY from the team because he's a part of it, and the stuff about the team is deliberately vague and even uninformed. I understand why, but it just doesn't work for me. I guess kind of like if he spent more time and effort on the entire team, it wouldn't work for him![]()

The Barking Carnival guy became engaged with this team because Vince was playing on it. He would have done the same with any team no matter where VY ended up. Most Longhorns feel that way about Vince, its just the way it is. You guys have never been able to handle that. Not really sure why, some sort of misplaced resentment that other's love a player instead of just loving your team.
But Vince is that once in a generation, or even lifetime, player, that does something for your team that endears him to you in an intense and enduring fashion. In my lifetime, there are only three players that fill that bill: Vince, Earl and Roger. (And if you have to ask what any of those last names are then you are just too darn young. LOL)
BTW, Orangebloods love all their players while they're on the team and treat them as one of "us" for all time. But, only a handful have ever inspired the love and devotion that Vince and Earl have. Just as an example, Ricky Williams won a Heisman, but few at Texas prefer him to Young; Cedric Benson was a great back for Texas and I keep up with what's going on with him, but I rarely watch him play. And next year, I'll have a strong interest in where Colt goes and how he does, but I wouldn't pay for NFL Sunday Ticket to watch him - as good as he is, he's just not THAT type of player.
Vince and Earl are in a class of their own in Texas lore. Earl becoming an Oiler is what took me from being a fan of that "other" Texas team, to being a fully emotionally engaged fan of the Oilers. Vince repeated that cycle for the Titans. Look guys, it is what it is. College fans have a special affection for some of their players, just like you guys do for Steve. It's always been strange to me that so many of the online Titans fans had difficulty understanding that.

Never been able to handle that? Really?
What exactly was good about that column / article / whatever the hell you want to call it from a Titans point of view? As fans of the team we have no problem with people that are just fans of a single player. Have fun with it. Do whatever. It doesn't really bother anyone. Just don't expect most of us to see things the same as you (as you don't with us). We like the entire team and like reading stuff about the team as a whole.
I hated typing that with the "you's" and "us's" in it since we are all just fans. I just couldn't figure out a way to word it differently. I am tired.

but i have never seen it taking to the extreme that is has been with vince.
seriously at times it does come across as cultish.
the whole it isnt vince there are problems with the rest of the team got old..
it got old that vince couldnt help it if the the wr's dropped ball but it was high crime against kerry when they dropped his passes.
and the refusal to recognize vince did indeed quit on the team last fall.
a lot of good people left the tomb because they felt like they coudnt debate vince without being attacked.
heck i even considered leaving a time or too but just decided i wasnt going to be bullied into shutting up.
i do wish vince well and hope he has made the best of this opportunity to really learn and mature.
it will be better overall for the team if they already have their long term qb and dont have to draft and prep another one.
oh yeah..
i dont think vince yet has earned the right to be placed in the same sentence with earl.
maybe has far as just college but he hasnt shown anything like the mental and physical toughness earl had.

I think it's a nice article.
