The Titans are on the verge of signing former Cardinals linebacker Pago Togafau to a one-year contract, according to his agent.

The Titans claimed Togafau off waivers last month and were awarded his rights. Since then, however, a decision regarding a previous injury-shortened season has changed Togafau’s status to a restricted free agent.

Yet instead of offering Togafau a tender, the Titans are going to sign him to a contract, agent Allan Cunanan said.

“It should be done by the end of the week if not next week,’’ Cunanan said.

Togafau was released by the Cardinals last month after playing in the final two regular season games. The third-year pro has also spent time with the Eagles and Saints. In three seasons he’s played in 15 games and made 24 tackles. He’s played primarily on special teams.

“He plays both (linebacker positions), but he is mainly an inside guy, that is his forte,’’ Cunanan said. “The Titans say they are looking at him to definitely plug some holes this season at the linebacker position, and not just have him be strictly a special teams player. They like what they’ve seen from him on film.’’

There was a video that went along with the report. he doesn't need to let himself get taped like that out in public. Vince can like it or not but as a QB he's supposed to be the face of the franchise. I don't think it's a big deal in the larger scheme of things but it does show bad judgment IMO.

Not only was Hentrich a class act, but in regards to being the last link to the early success that established the franchise here in Nashville, he was also the final act.

I feel like I'm reading the eulogy from a funeral and the final nail has been hammered. There really was something special about that team and I'm not so sure I'll ever experience it again. Different era, different generation, but I'm really hoping our new team will create magic, too.

I said it wasn't a big deal. I'd just like to have one offseason where our QB makes headlines for all the right reasons but I guess that's just too much to ask.

ROFR & first-, third-round choices $3,268,000 or 110 percent prior salary

    Scaife made more than that.....

Me too. I liked the part where Craig said he was comfortable retiring because of Kern. I also liked everything Kern said. I know it's just PR but he bothered to do it and said all the right things

Titans have reached out to Harper's agent....

    http://blogs.tennessean.com/titans/2...harpers-agent/

I know some won't like that IMO Nick played better than fans think.

i dont have a problem with harper, i do have a problem with him starting thou. but if we are able to keep him for cheap & for depth...i have no problem with it at all.

we're likely going to have limited options at CB. I know everyone is hot to trot to draft one but we just used 2 picks on DB's last year. We are unlikely to get one of the better first round DB's. We have no second round pick so at best we are looking at drafting a DB in the 3rd. We already have a 3rd round DB pick from last year. I'm fine with us signing Hood or Harper with the intent to let one of them compete with M&M and even start until one of them is ready. I really hate to see us draft yet another CB when we really need to fix our Dline and get better depth there. More value at that spot this year anyway.
