if manning comes here, locker can sit on the bench for 3 years.... it helped rodgers out.... if manning comes here and wins us a superbowl, no one will remember this thread or people complaining about getting an old manning who is injured... so its all subjective really..... but manning would really help us out in the run game... teams would have to respect all options of our offense, and manning is smart as hell to audible out to the correct play... and we have some really good wideouts who im sure would be 10x better with manning throwin to them...

that said, if we get manning, AWESOME. if not, locker better be the day one starter, he gives us the best chance to win instead of MH.... but ill taking manning please
If theres one thing I just can't stand, its the ravens and the crappy fans that "cheer" for them...so follow me on twitter @ravens_suck !!

And to add to your comments RallyRed, there's also a good possibility that if Manning comes here we could also land Reggie Wayne. Reggie Wayne, Kenny Britt, Jared Cook, Chris Johnson, Peyton Manning - that would be a difficult offense to deal with. As for the defense, we know Manning has the ability to carry a team without a defense. He did it many times in Indy. Perhaps that's what Bud is thinking. Of course, we could make quite a splash in free agency still, even if we don't get Manning, if Bud is pining that hard for a Super Bowl win. The way I see it, if Bud is looking to win and win now, then load up the team in free agency and enjoy the ride. We'll pay handsomely for it in a few years, but it will be fun while it lasts.
The Tennessee Titans - good for whatever ails you!

Bud does win either way. If we don't land Manning, the fanbase knows that he tried his best to bring him in. And if we do land him, then hopefully we have a potential Super Bowl team (not to mention full stadiums and a lot more prime time games).

The big question now is how to convince not only Manning to come here, but to make the coaches buy in on this move. If Manning visits and senses the coaches don't want to change their schemes for him, he won't stay.

The way our offense looked at times I'm all for #18 changing our schemes. It's going to be a fun ride the next couple of weeks at the very least. If he doesn't come we are still in pretty good shape and if he does I need to make Super Bowl arrangements...

It's gonna be bad though if we don't get him and go into the season with a ton of cap space on the books. I'm afraid that if the money isn't spent on Manning, it won't get spent.

I am not afraid of that at all. Mario Williams should be are #2 guy if Manning falls through, and that will take a lot of cash. If not Mario, then Freeny or Abraham. I see a lot of spending by the Titans this year, either mostly on a big free agent or spread out among a bunch of defensive players.

Manning's fate should be decided by the end of the week. After that, there is plenty of time to spend money.

Ugh.... FU Bud. Yeah, last time we got your guy, it worked out oh so well. :|

And why would Locker sitting behind Manning help him out? Manning has never been a mentor, and has stated times before he doesn't want to be a mentor. The dude is selfish and would eat up all the snaps. So WHEN he does get hit and the neck acts up again, Locker will come in rustier than a 1st day rookie.

If people think Peyton makes this team a superbowl contender they're kidding themselves..

He wasn't that great the last time he played and he's been off an entire year, not so much as playing in practice. He's gonna be average at absolute best. Bank on it. No better than a healthy Hasselbeck was for us last year. Which is still not bad QB play at all, quite serviceable. But superbowl contending? Keep dreaming.

The last time he played, he threw for 4700 yards and 33 TDs. How is that not great???

He is still way better than a healthy Hasselbeck. And with that kind of offense, our defense will instantly be much better. Yes, Peyton makes the Titans into a Super Bowl contender for at least the next two years. Anyone who thinks otherwise are the ones kidding themselves.

Word is he's not visiting anymore teams, so Bud seems to be SOL right now.

And look at the future -- not hard when you see Colts and Vikings.

The proof will be in the pudding. Now that it appears that Manning isn't visiting anymore teams, Bud may have let his bulldog mouth over run his puppy dog a$$. He almost has to spend the money now

ESPN's article just made it sound like he is taking a break from travel to work on his rehab. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/76...-contract-talk

So it doesn't appear to be over for the Titans.

If Jeff Fisher were still here and the Titans landed Paid-A-Ton Mooning, I bet he would bench him and play Terry Collins instead.

Honestly that's a rehash of the story they put out at 11ish last night.

Two seasons ago he was. Today? No one knows. Reports say his arm strength is improving, but they also say he's not fully recovered. No one knows if/when a full recovery will equate to being an NFL starting QB again.

Maybe the Kool-aid will be gone and realty hits by the time they get to contract.

This has certainly added a level of entertainment to the off-season that's for sure. Between Manning & Mario Williams it's been very interesting.....
Was going to do some procrastinating, but decided to put it off for later.
