    Default Go Preds!

Awesome game 7 win last night against the Ducks.

Rinne was amazing at stopping the puck, and taking an early 2-0 lead was huge. Way to make their game 7 a huge success.

On the other hand, you have the Ducks. For the fourth year in a row, they had a 3-2 series lead and blew it, with all four game sevens at home. Wow.

While I haven't gone to any of the games, I have watched almost all the playoff games on tv, and I am just so impressed with this team. Listening to talk radio this morning, everyone is saying that the last few minutes of the game yesterday was the loudest it has ever been at Bridgestone Arena.

It does feel a lot like 1999 all over again. When the Preds lost that last regular season game on a shorthanded goal in the final minute, I did not expect them to put up any competition against Chicago. But that changed completely as soon as they won both games in Chicago. From that point on, I have felt that the Preds are the best team in the Western Conference, if not the whole league (though the Penguins are still the team to beat).

The city is rocking right now. The team is on a 9 game win playoff win streak at home dating back to last year, and there is no reason to believe they can't beat the Oilers or Ducks.

The only negative, and this affects only a small number of people in town but includes my family, is that my daughter's graduation is scheduled for a week from Tuesday at Bridgestone. With a concert scheduled for next Wednesday at the arena, her graduation is a prime target for a game. My best case scenario is that the graduation gets moved to Monday night at Bridgestone, though we are not sure that is even possible.

Another great home win by the Preds last night! That is 10 in a row now, as they take a 2-1 series lead.

Mariota and the O-line were out in full force. Ben Jones walked with a dead Catfish.

That 3rd period last night was just unbelievable. So crazy, many ups and downs with the canceled goals but the team kept on and the crowd kept loud. What a run, and that building is pure pandemonium.

The Hockey gods have to let the Preds win last nights game after that 3rd period... I don't understand letting the Ducks have it back. So wrong. The Preds are a fun team to watch!

I thought yesterday was Pekka's best game of the playoffs. He and the defense played so well.

It's going to be crazy Monday night in Nashville. This is likely the biggest sporting event ever hosted in Nashville.

Looks like a Pittsburgh-Nashville matchup. Go Preds. Break Crosby.

That is loud as you can ever make an arena. Awesome atmosphere. Crazy jealous but happy as hell for any of you that are legit Preds fans that are soaking this in. Take Stanley!

If the Preds tie this series tonight Nashville will implode. Sure is fun to watch the energy in that place!!!!

Another great night in Smashville! It's going to be crazy Sunday here, but if the Preds can find a way to win Thursday night in Pittsburgh, I can't imagine what it will be like here.

The Finals reminded me way too much of our Super Bowl game. Games 1 and 2 were like the first half took a 16-0 lead. Games 3 and 4 represented the Titans comeback to tie it up. Game 5 was the bomb by the Rams to take a 7 point lead. And this game was the comeback that fell just short at the very end.

I am very proud of the Preds for this run, and I am proud of this fanbase for showing what great hockey fans they are. It does appear that Pittsburgh fans were very jealous of the way Nashville was portrayed as a hockey town (a Pittsburgh fan on the NFL maps 506 forum said we were "classless idiots" and "didn't know what a puck was before Memorial Day").

Nashville and/or Tennessee will get a pro championship someday, and hopefully the success of the Preds this year has helped inspire the Titans.

That "fan" is getting beat up on that message board, thank goodness. But I have seen some bitter Pens fans on Facebook and the Tennessean message boards.

Hell of a season. It hurts, and it's supposed to. That said, I was really blown away by the fans. This is the Nashville I remember when the Titans got good, and hope to see that again this fall.
