Default Anyone going to the Welcome Coach Vrabel event Sat night?

My dad and I will be there tomorrow night at the Opryland Hotel. It's a special event for PSL holders. If anyone else is going, maybe we can meet up at some point.

Also it looks like the new uniforms/logos will be revealed on April 4 based on what I saw on Facebook from the Titans.

They sure are using the logo that is all dark/light blue lately. Like the little amount of red is gone.

I give up. There is no parking anywhere. I am heading home.

There was lots of parking near the theatre, but it took a while to get there-I thought about giving up. Plenty of Vrabel love, Pees was the only other coach, and Lewan and Byard were the players. Eddie was there. All they had for food was bags of chips.

Yeah, they sorta went a little cheap on the snacks this time.
Traffic in and out was pretty brutal, the Crystal Gayle etc. show taking place at The Grand Ole Opry at 7 pm didn't help a bit.
We also walked past a volleyball tournament that was happening as we entered...

About 8000 of us made it, but the one's in the past have worked far better at other locations.

Got to Opry Mills by 4:00. Finally found a spot to park. If I had arrived any later, probably would have given up as well. We ended up eating at Chili's and left at 5:45 to get in the line for the event. That in itself should tell you how crowded it was at Opry Mills.

Enjoyed the conversation I had with many season ticket holders but left after Kevin Byard spoke. Whoever was in charge of the sound system system should either be fired or never given a contract for an event ever again. Poor quality, could not hear the speakers for most of the event. Event was delayed trying to get more people into the room. They said 7000 people at the event. No way. Room was only half filled if that.

Lewan was funny when they got his mic working for a while. Byard is a quality guy.

Overall, I'll attend local events held for the Titans like the dinner in M'Boro last summer but I'll never go back to Opryland.

For those that didn't make it, reruns of the U.S. vs. Sweden in Curling would be more enjoyable.

I just felt bad for my dad who drove all the way from Clarksville (and was just 2 cars behind me on Briley trying to get in). After we both searched for 30 minutes, it just wasn't worth parking far away with that big storm coming.

If they ever have this event again, I will try to come 3 hours early so that I would have a chance. It was not smart to have it on a Saturday night, with all the other events going on. It would have been much better on a weekday.

    I didn't mean to make it sound like you didn't look. Sorry you missed it. There was a huge volleyball tournament in addition to the Opry, too;

No problem. And I have watched some of the video of the event on Facebook.

    In a nutshell, pretty much...

...definitely the worst I've yet been to.

We've been to a lot of these types of events, and they have all been fun before, with at least decent food and more players etc. They are more events coming, and we'll likely go.

They set the bar for this type of event last year with the one at the new Convention Center, they didn't get close to it this year. I hate to bitch about free, but it was sub par.
