    Default Historic opening game

You all know how much I love milestones and records. I borrowed a lot from TitansOnline because I thought they were fascinating.

Walker surpassed Wycheck for the franchise lead of TDs scored by a tight end. Wycheck had 27, and Walker scored 27 and 28.

AJ Brown became the first player in franchise history to catch for 100 yards or more in his first game since Sid Blanks in 1964.

First time Henry had a receiving and a rushing TD in the same game. It was only his 2nd career receiving TD, his other being a 66 yarder against the Jags in 2017.

It was only Mariota's 9th game with 3 TD passes, and only his 5th with 3 TDs and 0 INTs. The 75 yard pass to Henry tied for the longest in his career.

Cameron Wake had his 99th, 100th, and 100.5th sacks. The only other active player with 100+ sacks is Terrell Suggs (Cardinals).

Byard has 13 career interceptions. I thought this was one of his best ones, as usually he gets ones that are tipped or overthrown. This one he had to get in front and really reach for it.

First time in franchise history the defense had at least one safety, three interceptions, and five sacks.

Most points scored in an opening game in Titans history (Titans had 42 against the Bucs in 2015). It was the largest margin of victory in any game since beating the Dolphins 37-3 on 11/11/12.

I was wondering "who is Sid Blanks?", so I looked him up.

Sid was a halfback who played 6 seasons for the Oilers. It is interesting that after he had 131 yards receiving in his first game, he never broke 100 yards ever again. He also didn't play at all in 1965 (not sure why).

Also, this was only the fourth 43-13 game in NFL history, and the only one with the road team winning.

November 16, 1952 Detriot Lions over Dallas Texans
December 12, 2010 Arizona Cardinals over Denver Broncos
October 21, 2012 Houston Texans over Baltimore Ravens
September 8, 2019 Tennessee Titans over Cleveland Browns
