Default Some thoughts on the future of the Titans

Back when the Titans were 2-4, my thoughts were very different. Definitely fire the OC and OL coach, and possibly fire Vrabel. Draft a QB high, and maybe get Tannehill to sign a backup QB deal. Henry could stay or be let go...not a priority.

Now that they are 7-5 (5-1 in last 6 games), it's a whole different outlook. The Titans need to sign Tannehill with the money they would have given Mariota if he had succeeded. At least a 3 year deal at $20-25 million a year.

Henry needs to be kept as well. He shouldn't get #1 RB money since he still isn't an all-purpose yard back like others. But if he gets #5 RB money, that would be fine.

Delanie Walker is very likely to be cut. 2020 is his final year of his contract, and cutting him would save about $7 million in cap space. (He would just cost $1.67 million against the cap). He has been a terrific player, but injuries have taken a big toll these last two seasons.

Logan Ryan has to be re-signed. He is one of the best corners in the league, and definitely the best on the Titans.

Sims likely should be re-signed. He has been a solid backup corner, and has played a lot of time.

The Titans have a lot of other free agents at the end of the year. Here are a few - Conklin, Woodyard, Kelly, Correa, Firkser, and Johnson. It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes. Here is the complete list: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-age...nessee-titans/

Vrabel is obviously safe. Arthur Smith may be safe as well, as the offense has been scoring very well (as well as being almost perfect in the red zone). The oline coach could be upgraded.
Go Titans! Go Braves! Go Preds! Go Dores!
