Not suing Harrah's also puts them at a disadvantage in seeking evidence. Her attorney has already asked for the video evidence which has not been provided. If it's been destroyed in Tennessee you would have a good "spoilation of evidence" case. All her attorney would have to do is submit a set of RPD's (Request for Production of Documents) to Harrah's and they would be obligated to turn over all discoverable evidence. There's far less control over a non party. The attorney could subpoena the evidence but it's a far less preferable way to get it, IMO.

they are! not to mention jerks & greedy scam artist. I work for this company and since the economy is kinda bleh, they are seriously like screwing so many people over. and I get the privaledge of hearing it everyday. so just a heads up, if you plan on making a trip anytime soon to a casino/hotel...beware of any additional charges anyone or any place will want to put on your credit card. cause you will probably not get it back. and I know this doesn't have much with the assault case but so many people in the casino industry are losing their jobs cause companies like harrahs can't afford to pay them. and so they hire people like me located in san antonio to do reservations and whatnot.

so even if ben did or did not do it...in times like these, people are doing what they can to make money. I had some medications of mine stolen recently and im pretty sure it was so somebody could make a quick buck of of selling them.

Even if it isn't true, their image is taking a hit right now. The chief of security??? If she was hoping to damage their reputations she's off to a good start.

A long long time ago I had to sue my employer over a workman's comp claim and I was still working there. The dumbass owner literally fired me just before he walked out the courtroom doors. Everyone just stared at each other and I couldn't help it, I burst out laughing

LOL! I used to do a LOT of WC defense. The stories I could tell if they weren't protected by attorney/client privilege. *shakes head*

You know, you bring up an interesting point. In Tennessee she would arguably have a WC claim against her employer for an alleged attack. IDK what the law is in Nevada. Her lawsuit against the employees wouldn't be WC though.

That's really got my curiosity going. Are NV employers required to report injury or illness?

That's what I was wondering too. Here Harrah's would be subject to penalties big time for refusing to provide her WC. Of course, she probably didn't even realize she was entitled (it's a rather unusual circumstance) but her employer should have known. I'm sure Harrah's is subject to OSHA monitoring or the state equivalent so you know they have to report their claims.

I still find it amusing that ESPN refuses to mention the story, despite it being in all the other sports sites and many news sites.

They certainly had no problems reporting McNair was drunk when he was killed.

There's no mention of it on ABC's web site, either.

I don't generally comment on situations when I don't have all the facts, so I won't say much about Roethlisberger one way or the other.

    But...

I do think it's absolutely ridiculous that ESPN is not covering this story because of ABC's ties/access to Roethlisberger. It completely destroys their integrity as any kind of "news" organization, and essentially reduces the entire network to a high-tech box score machine. If there was any precedent at all for ESPN to follow on this it would be one thing, but this is, to my knowledge, a first. And it's just plain sad.

Her lawsuit says she didn't file a criminal complaint because she feared Harrah's would side with Roethlisberger — a friend of the hotel-casino's regional president John Koster — and she would be fired.

She said the security chief, Guy Hyder, told her she was "over reacting," that "most girls would feel lucky to get to have sex with someone like Ben Roethlisberger" and that "Koster would love you even more if he knew about this."

She sought legal counsel in March after Harrah's officials told her Roethlisberger was invited to play in the 2009 celebrity golf tournament and ordered her to take a paid two-week leave during the event, the lawsuit said, "to accommodate her assailant."

So she waited over a year to file the lawsuit?

    Just seems strange to me.

^^^ see the post above you..
it explains a lot toward that.
she might have throught the nightmare was over until the more recent stuff in
    march.

right now vegas has been especially hit hard with the economy.
so i could see why she was wanting to keep the position.
and she might have thought it was a one time thing she would have to deal with but now it it keeps on coming back to haunt her.

at first i was totally on ben's side but as i find out more i am now not so sure./
